Dunas Beach Resort Launch Event
The Resort Group hosts memorable pre-opening event for exclusive guests
29th October 2014 – Property developer The Resort Group put on a glittering launch event on 24-27th October to celebrate the completion of MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa in Sal, Cape Verde. Hundreds of people, from property investors and sales agents to partners involved in the construction, enjoyed getting a first glimpse into the five-star, all-inclusive resort.
The Resort Group’s Chairman, Rob Jarrett took to the stage at the official ceremony to speak about the development of MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa and its role in boosting tourism in Cape Verde. Guests also heard speeches from Jose Maria Neves, the Cape Verdean Prime Minister, Cecilio Gutiérrez, Meliá’s Vice President of Mediterranean Operations, and Jose Luis Cuevas who is the General Manager of MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa.
During the ceremony, Rob Jarrett, Chairman at The Resort Group, said: “Dunas Beach is the biggest accomplishment we have made as a group and the pre-opening launch event gives us the opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work and determination. We are pleased to have been able to manufacture something as superb as Dunas Beach, and that we have given it to Cape Verde.

The ceremony was shortly followed by an unforgettable party, with guests seeing a colourful mix of entertainers perform on the beach. The line-up included headline acts Tinie Tempah, Miss Dynamite, Artful Dodger, Black Eyed Peas’ Apl.de.Ap, Britain’s Got Talent’s violinist Lettice Rowbotham and a cappella group The Magnets. A host of celebrities attended the launch too. Kerry Katona and Danielle Lloyd were just a few that hung out with the guests.
MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa is now ready to welcome the first holidaymakers to the resort from 1st November.
