Partner Spotlight: Deutsche Hospitality
Established in 1930 by Albert Steigenberger, Deutsche Hospitality has enjoyed incredible success since his first hotel acquisition in Baden-Baden, Germany. Today, their headquarters in Frankfurt is the epicentre of a €500 million operation that includes 116 hotels in 12 countries on 3 continents, and with such a unique and varied portfolio, this is clearly just the beginning.
Constantly evolving and finding new niches in the market, the business originally found its foundations in the luxury domain, marketing their prestigious hotels as the “best address in town”. But it was modernisation where the company really discovered its expertise, capitalising on the love of international travel early and quickly recognising the emerging trend for health and activity based holidays. As they passed their 50th anniversary and their presence in Germany continued to go from strength to strength, the company looked to further their reach on the world stage – focusing on luxury and mid-market destinations in Europe and beyond. Motivated by offering hospitality on another level, it’s now a powerful worldwide brand with a nearly 90-year reputation for excellent quality and a dynamic approach to service.
In line with this continued success in international development, The Resort Group PLC were happy to announce their partnership with Steigenberger, a part of Deutsche Hospitality, in Cape Verde earlier this year. A natural extension of their existing African operations, this move to Boa Vista will see two new luxury hotels for the archipelago under the five star Steigenberger and Jaz Hotels brand.
The developments will be ideally situated on the stunning Santa Monica Beach, considered to be the most attractive stretch of coastline on the island. Boa Vista is an increasingly popular destination with its year-round climate, beautiful beaches and relaxed environment – it’s the kind of growing tourism that aligns perfectly with this innovative, youthful brand.
Commenting on the exciting new partnership, Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Deutsche Hospitality, explained: “Expanding into a new country is a major step forward for our company. The international alignment of our portfolio strengthens us as an economic force and raises brand awareness. We are looking forward to opening our new hotels in such wonderful surroundings.”
Rob Jarrett, CEO of The Resort Group PLC added, “We are delighted to be partnering with Deutsche Hospitality to bring two new world class hotels and resorts to Cape Verde. It’s a growing tourist destination with fantastic year-round warm weather and unspoilt beaches – the perfect getaway.”
It’s a partnership that The Resort Group PLC is pleased to add to the portfolio, helping strengthen and expand operations in the touristic hotspot of Cape Verde. For more information about our operational resorts, strong partnerships and ongoing developments, get in touch via the contact page.
