The Trip Advisor 2018 Travellers Choice awards have revealed Cape Verde’s Santa Monica Beach to be one of the top 25 beaches in the world. The location where The Resort Group’s luxurious new White Sands Hotel & Spa will reside in 2019, Santa Monica Beach has earned hundreds of plaudits from Trip Advisor reviewers.

I have never stayed anywhere so clean before in my life! The staff work tirelessly to keep the place spotless. Our suite with a swim up pool was fantastic, the bed was massive! The shower room was again spotless and the shower was so powerful and refreshing. The room was cleaned every day and the mini bar was topped up every other day. We really enjoyed the choice of food at the self-service restaurant and Suileman the chef was awesome! The meat he cooked melted in your mouth and he takes such pride in his cooking. We booked to go all inclusive to Llana Beach Resort and Spa and we were not disappointed. It was a perfect holiday of a lifetime, perfect beaches, amazing hotel and amazing people. Food was spectacular (plenty of choice ranging from buffets, restaurants to cater for all tastes such as Italian, Asian and European) and entertainment out of this world, great bars and live music each evening with different events such as Cape Verdean night / white night – something for everyone. We took advantage of the island tour and visited Santa Maria and we were not disappointed – this was the perfect holiday of a lifetime. We have just come back from a week in Cape Verde at the Tui Sensimar, and it was wonderful. So clean, food good, staff wonderful, I truly cannot fault it. It was lovely and quiet, so relaxing. There were activities should you want them but we just made the most of the sun. The Tui rep. Kyle was great, so helpful, he linked up with the Postcards of Sal tour to let them know of my Mum’s mobility issues and they couldn’t have been more helpful, the tour was great. Booked our stay at melia.com and had some wonderful days at Melia Dunas Beach Resort & Spa. We stayed in a 3 bedroom Villa close to the beach (Melia side). “Wonderful week away
My partner and I had chosen this as we needed a week in the sun, and the Canaries aren’t as reliable in terms of weather. It was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised. We’d upgraded to the Level service, as we wanted the Adult only pool. We got special check-in, use of the Level Lounge and premium brand drinks. Also use of all the restaurants without having to worry about extras. Great breakfasts at the Sahel, and the food at the Aqua and Rancho restaurants was great. The staff were all lovely and always willing to help. Our rooms were clean, the bed comfy and well maintained throughout our stay. Service at the bars and restaurants was great. What a place. The staff are extremely attentive, very polite and really want to make you feel welcome. The cocktails are gorgeous, and are generally 9 euros each which is on par with other places in Santa Maria, but are better here.
