Established in 2006, World Luxury Hotel Awards has been recognising prestigious hotel venues for over a decade and is the pinnacle of achievement in the luxury hotel industry. Offering international recognition as voted for by guests, travellers and industry players alike, each year the awards receive over 300,000 votes from international travellers. With over 100 categories to enter, the awards ensure that they give each luxury location an opportunity to showcase their unique selling points and destinations.
From over 2,000 nominees, The Resort Group PLC is pleased to announce that two of its operational Resorts on Cape Verde, MELIÃ Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa and MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa are winners this year.
The Resort Group PLC’s first operational Resort on the archipelago, MELIÃ Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa, was this year’s West & Central Africa, Luxury Family All-Inclusive Hotel winner. Opening its doors to guests back in May 2011, this isn’t the first award the luxury development has been awarded over the years. Winning the World Travel Award for Cape Verde’s Leading Hotel in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017 the Resort has been nothing less than a huge success for The Group and its guests alike. Awarded TUI FAMILY Champion in 2018, the World Luxury Hotel Awards is another great addition to the Resort’s accolades.
The second operational Resort opened by The Resort Group PLC, Melia Dunas Beach Resort & Spa was also a winner at this year’s World Luxury Hotel Awards, picking up Luxury All-Inclusive Retreat for West & Central Africa. Opened in October 2014, the two-time Luxury Travel Guide Award Winner for Luxury Beach Front Hotel – Cape Verde, adds yet another award to its list of accolades, recognising its unwavering commitment to delivering 5-Star luxury service to its guests.
