Britain’s Next Top Model heads to the hotspots of Sal Island
The excitement ramped up another gear yesterday as the final four found themselves out in the Atlantic for one shoot followed by a taste of the real modelling world with a long day travelling around the Island.
After saying goodbye to Simone last week, the girls made the most of the Cape Verdean sunshine with a quick dip in the pool at MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa, then it was back to their private villa before they received their next challenge. It was a great opportunity to see Sal Island from a whole new angle as the girls took to a catamaran for a glamourous swimwear shoot. In the beautiful sunshine with the tropical coastline as their backdrop, each finalist struck a pose in their stunning Matthew Williamson pieces. Luckily, it’s an experience that visitors can have for themselves with a variety of trusted operators offering tours around the Island on a catamaran, including the business that featured on the show, Cuba Libre Sailing.
Back on dry land, the models barely had time to take advantage of their 5-star surroundings before they were delivered another challenge. It was a very early morning as they headed into the nearby town of Santa Maria to film an advert. The rustic, undiscovered yet colourful feel of Sal’s beachside setting was perfect for the creatives at boohoo.com, who utilised the eye-catching streets for their Festival campaign.
It wasn’t over there though, as they crew drove across the Island to the famous Salt Mines to get the final shots. Not just a natural spa, with salt-infused clay said to make your skin incredibly soft, the striking vista made for a great ethereal festival-inspired location. An industry for which the Island itself is named, the Salt Mines are a popular attraction for tourists and the girls certainly seemed to make the most out of the salt water flats, impressing the boohoo crew in the process.
Despite a great few shoots, as the competition heats up, we had to sadly say goodbye to Tallulah this week – who joined Simone elsewhere on the Resort to enjoy Cape Verde while the others continued filming. And next week promises to be an incredible episode, showing off Sal’s white sands with a nude shoot on a private beach and the big catwalk finale at Bikini Beach Club.
Britain’s Next Top Model airs on Lifetime TV at 9pm every Thursday. Check back on the next week for a round-up of the finale or get in touch via our contact form for more information about our developments.
