Nightlife on Sal Island

As more people than ever are flying to Cape Verde to take advantage of its famous Winter sun, we take a look at all the incredible things you can do once the sun sets on Sal Island. There is a variety of nightlife available to holidaymakers and Cape Verdeans are famous for their welcoming hospitality. Without further ado, we present our six favourite after-dark spots in and around our Resorts and the best nightlife on Sal.

1 | Bikini Beach Club

It wouldn’t be a list without Bikini Beach Club. Set to entertain all week long, you can laze the day away on the sun terrace before the DJ turns up the tunes for a night of cocktails and dancing, all while you stand 40 metres into the Atlantic.

2 | Turtle Watching

For a quieter life, there are other options. The most popular is the awe-inspiring turtle walks, which includes watching the turtles hatch and return to the ocean in the evening. If you are booking now, the best months to see this are between July and October.

3 | White Party

This evening institution has all the hits and all the atmosphere. Our White Party happens every Friday across the Resorts, promising incredible nights with live music and a busy dancefloor, it’s the perfect way to welcome the weekend.

4 | Get Active

For a more chilled evening experience, why not try an activity as you watch the Sal sunset? Witness the famous sight on horseback while you ride down Santa Maria beach for the perfect romantic outing or take it up a notch with a jet boat journey through Bikini Beach Watersports. Whatever your preference, you can watch the sun set in style.

5 | Explore the Resort

There is so much to see and do when you stay on your Resort, whether you’re with the kids and you want to take in one of our action-packed shows at the amphitheatre or if you’re more in the mood for cocktails and late night live music. Alternatively, enjoy a bit of late night shopping at one of our many stunning Resort boutiques – all our stores are open until 9pm to suit your needs.

6 | Late Bar

If you’re looking for more after all your fun in and around the Resorts, move on to one of our after-dark bars. At MELIÃ Tortuga Beach Resort, there’s the Late Bar, you can head to Velvet at MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa and the Azul bar at MELIÃ Llana Beach Resort & Spa. You’ll be spoilt for choice as you continue your evening.
